Cookies

We collect certain information using automated means, such as cookies, when you visit the Platforms. A “cookie” is a text file placed on a computer’s hard drive by a web server. The information we collect in this manner may include your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs and information concerning actions taken on the Platforms. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session (session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer to allow us to recognize you the next time you visit the website (long-term cookies).

Web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to manage and delete cookies, visit www.allaboutcookies.org. Some web browsers (including some mobile web browsers) provide settings that allow a user to reject cookies or to alert a user when a cookie is placed on the user’s computer, tablet or mobile device. Although users are not required to accept cookies, blocking or rejecting them may prevent access to some features available through the Platforms, including access to your account and certain personalized content. In addition, advertisers and partners may also use their own cookies. We do not control use of these cookies and expressly disclaim responsibility for information collected through them.

Protecting Your Information

We want you to feel confident about using our Platforms to register with us and use our services. We are committed to protecting the Personal Information we collect. While no Platform can guarantee security, we use commercially reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to assist us in preventing unauthorized access, use and disclosure of your Personal Information.

Linked Sites

Our Platforms may contain links to other websites operated by third parties, including participating restaurants and fundraising organizations. This Policy does not apply to your use of third party websites. Serving Up Change is not responsible for the information practices or content on such linked sites, including the sites belonging to Participating Restaurants and Participating Organizations, and your use of those third parties’ sites is not governed by this Policy. We have no liability or responsibility for those sites or their privacy policies and practices. We recommend that you carefully read the policies, including terms and conditions of use, of each site you visit.

E-mail Notifications

To respect the privacy of our users, we provide the opportunity to opt out of certain types of communication. You may choose not to receive commercial e-mails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in the e-mails. Please note that even if you unsubscribe from commercial e-mail messages, we may still e-mail you regarding your account and your transactions.

If you wish to opt out of receiving offers from us, you can follow the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions in the e-mails that they send you. Please allow up to ten (10) business days for us to process this request.

If you wish to opt out of receiving marketing materials from Participating Restaurants for which you have purchased e-Gift Cards, you can uncheck the appropriate box in our online payment form, and we will request that the applicable Participating Restaurant not use your Personal Information for marketing purposes. However, please note that Serving Up Change cannot control the privacy practices of Participating Restaurants, and Serving Up Change assumes no liability or responsibility for any Participating Restaurant’s breach of this Policy.

Managing “Do Not Track” Signals

Some browsers have a Do Not Track (“DNT”) feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want your online activities tracked. When you choose to turn on the DNT setting in your browser, your browser sends a special signal to websites, ad networks, plug-in providers, and other web services you encounter while browsing to stop tracking your activity via cookies or other tracking technologies. Our Platforms do not respond to DNT signals at this time.

California Residents

If you are a California resident and have an established business relationship with us (for example, if you have ordered from us or have a login account), you can request a notice disclosing the categories of personal information we have shared with third parties, for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes, during the preceding calendar year. To request such a notice, please submit your request to us at the mailing address noted below. Please allow 30 days for a response to your request.

If you are a California resident under 18 years old and have an account with us or have linked to us through social media, you can request that we remove content or information that you have posted to our website or other online services. Note that fulfilment of the request may not ensure complete or comprehensive removal (e.g., if the content or information has been reposted by another user). To request removal of content or information, please email or call us using the contact information below.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Serving Up Change may from time to time make changes to this Policy to reflect changes in legal or regulatory obligations or changes in the manner in which we deal with Personal Information. We will post any revised version of this Policy on the Platforms. Any changes will be effective on the effective date stated in the revised Policy. If we significantly change how we handle your Personal Information, we may provide more prominent notice or obtain your consent as required by law. If you do not wish to accept the changes, you should cease using the Platforms. Your continued use of the Platforms after we have posted a revised Policy indicates your agreement to the revisions.
