Justice & Legal, People with Disabilities
CancerLINC is a home-grown non-profit that helps about 600 cancer patients and their families with over 1000 issues each year. CancerLINC provides cancer patients with financial and legal services they otherwise could not afford; like simple wills, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, employment discrimination, insurance and Social Security denials, bankruptcy and medical debt. We have 200 attorneys and financial consultants who help our clients free of charge. We also connect them with community services that help them to do things such as keeping their utilities on or getting free or low-cost medications. CancerLINC provides monthly life-planning workshops to help patients manage their lives with cancer and show them how to engage in self-advocacy.
