About Heart of Virginia Council, BSA
The Heart of Virginia Council serves over 12,000 youth, 3,800 volunteers and over 380 unique units in central Virginia. Scouting is one of the largest values-based youth development programs in the United States. Its programs and outdoor adventures prepare young people by building character, developing citizenship, providing local service opportunities, instilling leadership, and fostering personal and mental fitness. Scouting in the Heart of Virginia Council is funded through the generous support of individuals, families, small business, corporations, and civic organizations.
